Canter Intelligence, LLC ("Canter Intelligence," "we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share information in connection with our products and services, including the Canter Intelligence Performance Suite and Barn BrAIn monitoring system.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account or contact us, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, and facility information.

Video and Image Data (Performance Suite): When you upload videos for ride analysis, the video is processed in your browser using MediaPipe pose detection. Video data is not uploaded to our servers — all analysis happens locally on your device. We do not store, transmit, or retain your video files.

Monitoring Data (Barn BrAIn): Barn BrAIn processes video feeds locally on NVIDIA Jetson edge hardware installed at your facility. Video data never leaves your local network. We do not have access to your camera feeds. Alert notifications (fire, behavior, foaling) are sent via email or SMS only to recipients you configure.

Usage Data: We may collect anonymized usage statistics such as feature usage frequency and session duration to improve our products.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain our products and services
• Send you alerts and notifications you have configured (fire detection, foaling watch, behavior alerts)
• Communicate with you about your account, including service updates
• Improve and develop new features
• Comply with legal obligations

3. SMS and Email Communications

If you configure SMS alerts through Barn BrAIn, you consent to receive automated text messages at the phone number(s) you provide. These messages are safety and security alerts related to your facility monitoring (fire detection, horse health alerts, foaling notifications).

Message frequency: Alert messages are sent only when safety or health events are detected. Frequency varies based on detected events, with a minimum 5-minute cooldown between alerts per camera.

Message and data rates may apply. Your carrier's standard messaging rates apply.

Opt-out: You can stop SMS alerts at any time by removing your phone number from the Barn BrAIn configuration, or by replying STOP to any alert message. You can also contact us at info@canterintelligence.com to be removed.

Opt-in: SMS alerts are only sent to phone numbers explicitly added to the system configuration by the facility owner or authorized administrator. We do not send unsolicited messages.

4. Data Storage and Security

Edge-first architecture: Barn BrAIn is designed with privacy as a core principle. All video processing happens on local hardware at your facility. Camera feeds are not transmitted to the cloud or to Canter Intelligence.

Behavior data: Horse behavior logs (standing, lying, rolling patterns) are stored in a local SQLite database on the Jetson device at your facility. This data does not leave your local network unless you choose to export it.

Performance Suite: Ride analysis session history is stored in your browser's localStorage. We do not have access to this data.

5. Information Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes. We may share information only in the following circumstances:

• Service providers: We use Twilio for SMS delivery and Gmail SMTP for email alerts. These providers process messages on our behalf and are subject to their own privacy policies.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request.
• With your consent: We may share information with your explicit consent.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your information
• Opt out of SMS or email communications
• Request export of your behavior monitoring data

7. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on our website with a revised "Last updated" date.
